Privacy Policy

Dabingo ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We believe in radical transparency: we collect as little as possible and sell nothing.
What We Collect
For guest players (no account):
- Display name — The nickname you choose when joining a game. This is not linked to your real identity and is deleted when the room expires (within 24 hours).
- Device ID — A random identifier generated and stored locally on your device (via Expo SecureStore). This is used solely for reconnection if you lose connection during a game. It is never sent to third parties.
- Game data — Your bingo card, daub actions, and bingo claims during a game session. This is ephemeral and deleted when the room expires.
For registered hosts (optional account):
- Email address — Used for authentication and account recovery. Stored securely via Supabase Auth.
- Game history — Past rooms you hosted (date, player count, winner). This helps you track your game nights.
What We Do NOT Collect
- No location data
- No contacts or address book
- No photos or media
- No financial information (the app is free)
- No advertising identifiers
- No usage analytics at launch (if we add analytics later, we will update this policy and use a privacy-respecting tool)
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect exclusively to provide the Dabingo game experience:
- Display names are shown to other players in the same game room
- Device IDs are used to reconnect you to an active game if your connection drops
- Game data is used to verify bingo claims and synchronize gameplay
- Email addresses (for registered hosts) are used for authentication only
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Period.
Our infrastructure is hosted on Supabase, which processes data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
Data Retention
- Game rooms and all associated data (players, cards, calls) are automatically deleted 24 hours after the last activity in the room.
- Registered accounts are kept until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the app settings.
- Device IDs are stored only on your device and are never stored on our servers beyond the active game session.
Children's Privacy
Dabingo is rated 4+ and is designed for family use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Guest players provide only a nickname, which is not personally identifiable information. No account is required to play.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Game logic runs server-side to prevent tampering. We use industry-standard security practices provided by our infrastructure partner, Supabase.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Play without creating an account (and thus provide minimal data)
- Delete your registered account and all associated data at any time
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Contact us with any privacy questions or concerns
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify users through the app. We will never retroactively reduce your privacy protections.
